| Health and Safety Management
Health and Safety legislation places a duty
on employers to assess the risks to its employees and others
who may be affected by the activities of a company. We are able
to produce all necessary assessments to identify the hazards,
associated risks, persons at risk, existing control measures,
and practical recommendations on additional measures that may
be required to ensure that your company is taking all reasonable
steps to comply with current legislation. Any significant findings
that arise from risk assessments must be recorded.
Examples of assessments would include, manual
handling, display screen equipment, machinery, personal protective
equipment etc. We consider ourselves specialist in these kinds
of assessments and pride ourselves in producing as far as possible
jargon free common sense advice that is understandable by all
concerned.
Health & Safety Audits
These are vital in helping to see the overall
picture of existing health & safety management systems.
The audit is a detailed examination of all health & safety
policies and procedures that exist within an organisation including
day-to-day working practices. Following this a comprehensive
report will be issued comparing “how things are”
with “how things should be”. Again this will include
sensible advice on any improvements that should be made.
Health & Safety Audits and of course any
other services are often better carried out by external consultants
who can provide an independent evaluation.
Health & Safety Inspections
Regardless of the type of company you are frequent
inspections are an invaluable proactive strategy in reassuring
your employees that health & safety is taken seriously and
demonstrates your commitment to their health, safety and welfare.
Frequent inspections take a sample of health and safety arrangements
and working practices and help to quickly identify any problems
that may have developed.
Health & Safety Policies
We can provide bespoke safety policies tailored
to your specific requirements, this would normally be in the
form of a corporate policy which would typically set out what
you are going to do and how, and would include “arrangements
for health & safety”. Once the corporate policy is
in place it may be that other policies are required such as
a policy on manual handling, or display screen equipment.
